Winter 2020 Update

Real Property Records Access

Temporary complimentary access for real estate research through RecordEASE Web will end on December 31, 2020. Starting January 1, 2021 our office will be providing three research options:

  • Skyway Research Center- Self-service kiosks located in the Skyway Level of the Hennepin County Government Center
  • RecordEASE Public Search- Limited access to search indexes online at no cost
  • RecordEASE Pro- Full online subscription service providing the ability to download/view documents, certificates of tile and plats for a flat $2.50 amount per item, with no additional monthly subscription or search fees
  • Existing subscribers are automatically registered for RecordEASE Pro. New subscribers can sign up for access here- https://formcatalog.hennepin.us/rres/recorder_registrar_of_titles/subscription_agreement.html

  • We will contact you with user ID(s) and password(s) once processed. Invoices are emailed monthly to subscribers. Checks made out to Hennepin County Recorder. Credit cards are not accepted.
  • Suggested web browser: We recommend using Chrome or the latest version of Edge when accessing this site.

Tip: Real property records are best searched by legal description or name. Find the legal description most closely associated with a PID or address- https://www.hennepin.us/residents/property/property-information-search

Assistance with one-time basic searches can be provided without the need of RecordEASE access by emailing recordsrequest@hennepin.us

    Preferred Document Submission Method- eRecording

To better protect the health and safety of our clients, citizens and staff; we recommend electronically recording your real-estate documents whenever possible. Documents recorded electronically are normally processed within a few business days. Documents recorded by mail face a longer processing time (4-6 weeks for return to customer) but are assigned a recording date/time when they are received in a recordable form by our office. If submitting by eRecording is not an option, consider sending materials for recording to our office using a delivery service providing tracking capabilities (Fed EX, UPS, or certified mail).

    Examiner of Titles Approval

For Torrens documents requiring Examiner of Title’s approval, we have developed a process by which documents submitted electronically can be routed to the examiners for approval and back to the Registrar of Titles for recording.

    Certified Copies Requests

We are processing certified copy requests submitted by mail.
